Rabbit Control
Rabbit Control

Pending weather, the NPWS intends to commence its pest control program in the Perisher Range Resorts and Charlotte Pass area on Monday 27 October. The shooting program will primarily target rabbits and hares, and opportunistically foxes and feral cats. No shooting will take place on weekends, public holidays, during the NSW school holidays (public school calendar) or during events. The ground shooting component of the pest program will be similar to that conducted over the previous two years.

150cm of snow and more on its way!

The Mountains have been snowing and Perisher just received some big natural snowfalls of the winter and it continues to come down across the resort so more than 50cm of fresh snow on the way to blanket Perisher

It's snowing at around 4cm per hour now and there's no end in sight. The Bureau is saying that we can expect these conditions thoughout today and into next week. So, if you've been delaying your visit book now!.

The long range forecast is for the base to increase so NOW an ideal time to visit the lodge.

2014 Working Parties

Kunapipi 2014 Working Parties

Dear Members,

A big Thank you to the membership for their attendance at the recent work parties.

Below is what the team achieved - Well done - Season opens Soon - Book now!!!!

  • All bedroom reading lights changed to LED’s
  • All other globes needing replacement have been replaced
  • 4 x new reading lamps assembled and installed in the lounge room . It was cheaper to get four of these ones instead of a single and a double.
  • New workbench and shelving unit installed in the basement
  • All tools have been sorted and the basement cleaned up
  • Roofing leak hopefully fixed. There was some minor signs of leaking on the ceiling but the lead flashing has been degrading for some time. it was cracked and we have silicone it up.
  • New ladder now at Kunapipi (step ladder/extension ladder). Its located in the large excavated storeroom under the dining room, access off the main entry to the lodge next to the fire panel.
  • Old ladder broken up and removed (we found another couple of old wooden ladders also).
  • All stores taken to the lodge and put in the cupboard
  • Both the male and female communal toilets have had the inlet and flush valves replaced. There may still be a leak in the male toilet when the toilet is flushed as the existing rubber pan flange is degraded. It’s a 2 min job to fix but I didn’t have one with me.
  • We also re-inventoried everything once the stores were added so we have a good handle on what is being used per year. There was a large amount of stores in the cupboard that are not being turned over so we will see at the end of the season what we can reduce buying.
